The essentials of a quality emergency kit, how you and your friends/family can plan for a disaster, and ways you can stay informed and up to date.
Emergency Call Center Training
Tuesday, April 5, 2016 (3:00-4:00pm) in SBS 179
Monday, April 11, 2016 (11:00am-12:00pm) in SBS 179
- This course is open to Humboldt students, staff and faculty who wish to help their campus during a disaster. During a disaster when Humboldt is experiencing an influx of emergency-related calls, the Emergency Operations Center team may open an Emergency Call Center (ECC), designed to handle inquiries from the community. This training acts as an overview of the ECC, volunteer requirements, procedures in the call center, and tips and techniques for handling emergency calls. This course is a prerequisite to volunteer in the ECC.
- Even if you're unsure whether becoming an ECC volunteer is right for you, feel free to attend for more information. We are especially in need of bilingual volunteers, with a focus on Spanish speakers, and obviously, volunteers with quality phone skills who work well under pressure are a must.
