Assessment
What is an assessment?
An assessment is an evaluation of activity in an area that utilizes hazardous materials or processes. This can be anything from working in a lab with chemcials, lasers, centrifuges, augres etc... or working n a shop with tools or compressed gases.
The assessment in RSS is structured into categories with specific activities. To complete an assessment, a person with responsibility or delegated responsibility must complete an online yes / no questionnaire indicating a presence or absence of the request activity type.
What is a group?
A group is defined by people with some responsibility for the activities in a given room(s). A group will ultimately be defined by a specific job hazard.
What are the roles?
- Delegate: A person assigned by the responsible person or College administrator to act on their behalf with the ability to do many of the same functions as the Responsible Person. Can create an Assessment (but not certify) and edit lab staff and locations.
- PI/ Responsible Person: The "owner" of the group or lab. Can create and certify Assessments and edit lab staff and locations.
